| DESCRIPTION: |
This was hand stitched
from twelve silk Obi sashes and some gold metal threads
were used. The Obi sash in the middle is antique (from
the forties) and others are more modern (about 10 to 30
years old). The woven patterns display cranes, royal carriages,
Japanese fans, wheels, Kikko-mon (hexagonal), Seigaiha
(a wave-like pattern), Kasumi-mon (mist), chrysanthemums,
plums, and cherry blossoms. The basic color is orange
but it has a lot of colors in it, gold, red, blue, green,
purple, brown, yellow and white. The back side is made
from upholstery grade 100% silk (not made in Japan) and
a Japanese made Kimono silk fabric. Quilter's Dream unbleached
organic 100% cotton batting is in it. |
