It is hand stitched
with twelve silk Obi sashes and some gold and silver metal
threads are also incorporated. Black Obi sash with the
woven patterns were usually used as formal wear. The patterns
include cranes, royal carriages, Japanese fans, Kikko-mon
(hexagonal), paulownia flowers, chrysanthemums, and other
flowers. The basic color is black but there are a lot
of colors in it, gold, silver, red, orange, blue, and
white. The back side is made from an upholstery grade
100% silk fabric (but not made in Japan) and a Japanese
Kimono silk fabric. And Quilter's Dream unbleached organic
100% cotton batting is in it. |
